Top 5 Social Media Tips for Enhancing your Feed

Social media is constantly changing, including more platforms and modern features. It can be difficult to keep up with these changes, but there are some tips that will allow for businesses to enhance their feed. These tips can be applied to all platforms, and will vary based on the company. In 2021, the main goal is to develop a healthy following on the appropriate platforms for your business. The below tips focus on quality over quantity, although they have the power to build quantity if given time and a great social media manager.

1. Maintain color themes:

Creating a logo is typically one of the primary steps to developing a business. A color theme correlates to the logo, and should always be included on social media platforms. Take advantage of the power of a color theme, because it makes the creation of social media posts incredibly simple. Choose up to 7 colors to regularly include on your feed (2 of which will be typically black and white). Gray and navy is also popular to balance a social media feed. Then, add in your logo colors! While maintaining a color scheme, be sure to change around the format of the posts so that the feed appears interesting.

2. Utilize site such as Canva:

Canva is a graphic design platform that allows people (without a degree in graphic design) to create appealing marketing material, including social media. With Canva, you are able to choose what type of content and material you would like to create. This site is very specific, and will allow you to even choose what type of platform you are creating this content for. Any social media manager can now appear as a graphic designer! Remember to maintain a color scheme and the same few fonts throughout each post. Familiarity creates brand recognition.

3. Develop conversation:

In addition to creating aesthetically pleasing content, businesses must remember to create conversation with their followers. After all, this is all about quality over quantity. Therefore, captions and posts should create conversation by asking questions and encouraging engagement. Followers that are loyal to a brand and will continue to engage with their social media are more powerful than thousands of silent followers.

4. Create videos and animated photos:

Graphics and photos will definitely develop engagement, but studies prove that movement is also important in order to keep followers interested in a brand. People are more likely to stop scrolling to watch a gif, video, or animated photo rather than a still post. With this knowledge, businesses can create variety in their content by including movement and sound on their feed. Fortunately, Canva also allows content creators to choose gifts and other types of movement to include within posts.

5. Remember your brand:

There are hundreds of tips that may help a social media manager grow a brand’s following, but more followers won’t matter if the business sways from their intent. The mission statement and positive interactions with customers should control the feed, rather than primarily focusing on trends.
